I am finally joining the world of blogs and want to welcome you to my world! Since 2001 I have been planning weddings & events. My official calling to start a business and actually get paid for my creative skills, that were so often called upon by family & friends, came on March 20, 2001.
On this day I decided that I was completely over my 9a.m. to 5p.m., okay maybe it was 8a.m. to 7p.m., 8p.m. or 9p.m. Anyways I did the most logical thing, I called in sick to work and decided that I was going to start a business. On a Monday, nonetheless!
Being the ambitious person I am. I went to the county clerks office and got my ficticious business name and business license. On my way there I also called the phone company and it just happened that they had a 12:00p.m. appointment to come out and install my business and fax line. By noon that day I was officially in business!
Of course then I realized that out of my impulsiveness I failed to create a business plan. Being a business major I should have known better than that. So I took the rest of the afternoon to write a plan. Actually it took a week because I had to go back to work. I thought about how and where I would advertise. Also, how I would get the name 'Elegant Weddings & Events by Design' out there.
Well it's out there and the rest is history because I am here 6 years later and still going strong. I gave up that crazy job by the way:)
Over the years I have worked with so many wonderful couples. Creating this blog seemed like the right thing to do. It allows me to share with all of you why I love doing what I do. I want you to experience what has kept me doing this for the past 6 years and what will keep me doing it for many more. In short its the couples that you will see in this blog, a.k.a brides and grooms. Please visit me frequently, I hope to have new things to share with you often. This is my life, this is my design by nature.
